In July 2025, EPA crewmembers sampled soil for lead contamination at the former Conn Band Instruments property. Sampling results indicated that additional cleanup at the site is necessary. Crews will return to the property in the spring to remove contaminated soil and restore grass as necessary.

Local officials referred the site to EPA after finding high levels of lead in the soil. The site is part of a Brownfields redevelopment project.
