On November 4, 2025, EPA received NRC Report # 1447031 from the National Response Center.  The report indicated that there was a partially submerged barge with a generator in a boat slip on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, which caused a light sheen on the water.  EPA determined that this incident occurred in the inland zone and sent an On-Scene Coordinator to investigate.
