On Thursday, July 17, 2008, at approximately 10:00 pm, the EPA Emergency Planning and Response Branch was notified of the release of elemental mercury in the nurse’s room at the Merrimack High School, located at 38 McElwain Street, Merrimack, NH. The release occurred when the janitorial personnel accidentally broke a blood pressure measuring instrument while cleaning.
