Marathon Pipeline Albion Release

 

The Marathon Pipeline Company release is located in Wayne County, Illinois. The release site is situated in a rural area and is located 8 miles northwest of Albion, Illinois and 6 miles northeast of Fairfield, Illinois. A pipeline containing Mississippi Sweet Crude Oil had ruptured in early morning on August 10, 2008. It is estimated that 4,000 to 5,000 barrels were released.
