On February 18, 2009, Mid Valley Pipeline reported a release of crude oil to the Rocky Ford River (NRC# 897885). Estimated release was 50 barrels but as of noon on February 20, 2009, 650 barrels of oil had been recovered from soils and the Rocky Ford River and Middle Branch Portage River. Twenty-four hour recovery and containment operations began immediately as well and excavation of pipes discharging into the river and removal of contaminated soils. The investigation into the cause of the release in still ongoing.
