Winona Hospital (the Site) is an abandoned 5 story Building with a basement. IDEM referred the Site to the EPA due to the fact that there are several labs located in the basement that are full of various chemicals and other wastes. In addition, an asbestos assessment has been done at the property and determined that there is a significant asbestos problem. The Site is located north of downtown Indianapolis about a block north of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.

EPA will mobilized with START, IDEM, and Marion County Health Department on March 23, 2009 to conduct an assessment and inventory of the hospital.
