The Chrome Engineering Site is located at 405 Central Avenue, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, CT in a residential/commercial/industrial area. The geographic coordinates of the property, as measured from its approximate center, are 41° 10′ 21″ north latitude and 73° 09′ 59″ west longitude. The 1.25-acre Site is bordered to the north by Eagle Street; to the east by Central Avenue and Johnson’s Creek/Cove; to the south by Trowel Street; and to the west by industrial property.

The Site is a 1.25-acre lot enclosed by a 6-foot chain-link fence. An estimated 600 ton contaminated soil pile in the northwest quadrant of the Site was identified by CT DEP as an imminent hazard. According to the EPA Region 1 Environmental Justice Mapping Tool, the Site is in an environmental justice area.
