At 1337 hours on February 12, 2011, Yakima County Fire District 5 was called in about a chimney fire at 131 Hitchcock Lane, which is west of West White Swan. Yakama Nation tribal authorities said that the fire consumed 22 homes.

The Yakama Tribe Council requested support from the EPA Emergency Response Team on Wednesday February 16, to provide technical assistance and conduct an assessment of the fire damage as it relates to hazardous materials spills and associated debris.

On Thursday at 0600 hours, two OSCs and two START contractors were mobilized to the incident to meet with Yakama Tribal Representatives and the Washington Ecology Spill Response Team.
