At approximately 02:30 on Monday March 28th a Kenan Advantage tanker truck travelling west on I-30 was struck by a passenger vehicle travelling east in the westbound lane. The transport which was carrying 6000 gallons of gasoline rolled over exploded and the driver was killed in the ensuing fire.

Most of the gasoline was consumed in the fire however a small amount travelled downgradient from the crash site and entered Sycamore Creek. Sycamore Creek empties into the Trinity River approximately .25 miles from the crash site.

OSC Rhotenberry arrived at the crash site at 09:20 and met with both Kenan Transport and Eagle SWS personnel who are working to recover the fuel which entered Sycamore Creek.
