The Bedford Anodizing Company operates as an aluminum anodizing facility. The facility normally discharges their wastewater first through an on-site treatment system and then into the sanitary sewer under permit. The sanitary sewer system had become clogged and the material backed up and was released through a manhole into the environment on the facility’s property and into a storm sewer which exited into a creek on a neighboring property.
