The S. Bent Furniture Co.site (the Site) is located at 60 Mill Street in Gardner, Worcester County, Massachusetts. The Site is located in a mixed residential and industrial area and is bordered to the south by Mill Street and commercial properties, to the east by Winter Street, and to the north and west by residential and commercial properties.
The Site is the location of an approximately 130,000 square foot four-story warehouse and manufacturing building that has been abandoned and has resulted in the structural failure of sections of the roof. Portions of the heating system and piping within the facility is insulated with ACM and there are suspected solvents, lacquers, and paints used for finishing the furniture stockpile also located on site.
