ODEQ contacted EPA on August 19, 2011 to report a significant fish kill in the Red River from approximately Terral, OK to Lake Texoma and requested assistance in assessing the situation. OK representatives have been in communication with Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC), local game wardens, and US Fish and Wildlife (USFW).

OSC Adams and START-3 contractors were activated to respond to the Site. EPA is working with ODEQ, TCEQ, ODWC, USFW, and Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW). EPA has been in contact with the environmental scientist/representative for the Chickasaw Nation as well.

Additional information will be updated as it is obtained. The Site location is approximate until responders are on the scene, and it is confirmed.
