Sun Drilling, Belle Chasse, Louisiana, had a 2000-gallon tank of divinylbenzene begin to polymerize. At this time the RP is not sure what is causing the reaction. An evacuation of nearby residents and government buildings was conducted with mandatory evacuation for an area near the chemical plant. OSC Enders and an EPA Team have been mobilized to the site to assess site conditions and provide assistance as needed.
