On December 3, 2012, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted a site assessment at the Dixon Road Site at 1114 S. Dixon Road in Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana. The site is located directly north of the Kokomo Dump Site, and was a secondary site for disposal and dumping for the Kokomo Dump. The Dixon Road Site is on the south bank of Wildcat Creek.

During the assessment, EPA documented numerous partially buried drums and waste piles. Site assessment results indicated high levels of arsenic, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB).

On April 2, 2015, EPA signed an Administrative Settlement Agreement and Order on Consent (ASAOC) with the potentially responsible parties (PRP) to conduct a time-critical removal action. The time-critical removal action will include establishing site security; conducting a comprehensive site assessment and engineering evaluation to determine the extent of buried drums and contamination in soil and potential removal options to control, contain, and/or remove drums, waste, and contaminated soil; implementing the selected control and/or removal action as approved by EPA; and transporting and disposing hazardous substances, pollutants and contaminants off-site
