On March 28, 2013, EPA was notified by the Louisian Oil Spill Coordinator's Office (LOSCO) of concerns raised by a representative of the Nature Conservancy, the land owner at Black Bayou where an oil spill took place. The complaint stated that although the spill was reported as only 5 barrels, the spill at issue was actually at least 30 barrels of produced fluids which contained a mixture of crude oil, chlorides and water. TNC is most concerned that the sensitive habitat of the Preserve will be irreparably damaged unless the response efforts are performed in a manner conducive to saving the habitat as overseen by a State agency.
