This site was an unpermitted gold mill discovered by the Colorado Department of Reclamation and Mining Safety (DRMS). It is located on the edge of the town of Mancos, CO.

The state of Colorado issued several injuctions against the former mining company and current owners of the site.

A stabilizing removal action, conducted as a cooperative effort between EPA and DRMS, has been completed to consolidate and stabilize waste material that had migrated off site. EPA initiated a Time Critical Removal Action on June 10th, 2014 to decontaminate the former mill building and remove chemicals stored outside.

As of July 29th, 2014, the removal is complete, all waste has shipped for disposal, and the property has be released to the property owner by the EPA and DRMS.

An ATSDR public health consultation was completed for the site at the request of the State of Colorado.
