The Tropicana Energy Company, Inc. Site is an abandoned fuel blending facility. The Site consists of 11 Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs)and associated piping; and, 27 drums of various materials. The key problem areas of the site include the residual materials located in the tanks, piping, and drums; and, the ground water contamination observed in the on-site monitoring wells. The materials in the drums include cuttings from the development of six (6) on-site monitoring wells associated with a 8,000 gallon gasoline spill that occurred in April 1990. The remainder of the drums located on-site have a total of approximately 200 gallons of materials. The types of chemicals that will be addressed by the removal action will be acetone, benzene, 2-butanone, ethylbenzene, methylene chloride, tetrachloroethylene, toluene, 111-trichloroethane, antimony, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, nickel, selenium, and zinc. This Site was proposed to the National Priorities List (NPL) along with the R&H Oil Company, Inc. Site on June 14, 2001.
