2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
On December 27, 2011, Midwest hauled off (6) 30 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 13,500 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- 0.5" of snow fell during the day.
On December 28, 2011, AVS hauled off 2 loads (12,400 gal) of oily water from frac tank 11 (originating from the solidification pits) to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.
- Midwest hauled off (8) 20 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 8,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
On December 29, 2011, AVS hauled off 2 loads (12,000 gal) of stormwater from the Tank 51 containment frac tank to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.
- Midwest hauled off (6) 20 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- Midwest started cleaning the Chemical Building.
- Midwest worked on identifying an entity that will accept and recycle virgin flocculent in the Chemical Building.
- Midwest deconned a long-reach excavator.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 10,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- The east wall of the east bunker tank was observed to be flexing inward.
- Steve Jones of the Pike Township Fire Department was on site. He inspected a tank in the solids building and looked at the bunker tanks.
On December 30, 2011, Midwest hauled off 2 loads (12,400 gal) of oily water from the southwest area storm sewer and west solidification pit to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.
- Midwest hauled off (7) 20 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- Midwest started foam-sealing pipe run holes in the solids building.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 10,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- Trihydro moved approximately 3,500 gal of Tank 51 secondary containment stormwater into the Tank 51 frac tank.
The wood pulp and sawdust solidification materials are reclaimed/recycled products. As of December 30, 2011, approximately 11,700,000 pounds of wood pulp solidification media, 1,800 tons of sawdust solidification media have been used to solidify sludge. Additionally, 860 tons of lime solidification media and 45 tons of TerraBond solidification media had been used to solidify waste sludge.
