2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

Initially, a PRP had attempted to utilize a local construction company to accomplish the cleanup.  It soon became clear that they were unable to effectivey mitigate the situation and an environmental cleanup contractor was activated.  Under the monitoring of MDNR officals, the contractor utilized a vacuum truck, frac tank, booms, and sorbent pads to recover the material.  The contractor was on site between March 9 - 16, 2009.

Soil samples were collected from the affected areas in May 2009.  Results were compared by MDNR personnel to Missouri Risk Based Corrective Action Levels.  Based on those results, MDNR made a recommendation of no further action.

The EPA provided overall project oversight and developed a Pollution Removal Funding Authorization (PRFA).   MDNR prepared a final report that was dated August 4, 2009, and was recieved by the EPA in late September.
