All Site cleanup activities were completed on 13 September 2011.

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

During 2010, Arcadis was on-Site from 13 September through 22 November.  Approximately 6,300 cubic yards of mine-waste contaminated materials were excavated and consolidated on-Site onto existing mine-waste materials to minimize the repository footprint.   An estimated 12,000 cubic yards of material are now contained beneath a geosynthetic cover system in a repository with an areal extent of approximately 0.6 acre.  During cleanup activities, best management practices were implemented to control potential short-term cleanup impacts, including fugitive dust and erosion and sediment and to manage stormwater.  Due to inclement weather constraints, not all cleanup activities were completed in 2010.

Acadis returned to the Site during Fall 2011, to complete the cleanup action.  Activities included disposal of non-hazardous metallic and wood debris, completion of stormwater control features, hydroseeding disturbed areas, and final topographic survey.  All Site activities were completed on 13 September 2011.
