1.1.1 Incident Category - Emergency    

1.1.2 Site Description - point source discharge into a branch of Nancy Creek.

1.1.2.1 Location - 4370 Lake Forrest Drive, Atlanta, GA

1.1.2.2 Description of Threat - discharge into water that violates water quality standards.

1.1.3 Preliminary Removal Assessment/Removal Site Inspection Results - discharge appears to originate from a ball field in Chastain park area.


2. Current Activities
  2.1 Operations Section
    2.1.1 Narrative - A community member reported that he observed a bluish cloudy substance in a branch of Nancy Creek.  OSC Jardine responded to evaluate the discharge and determine an appropriate action.  The volume of material is estimated to be less than one gallon and it has settled to bottom of the creek in an approximately 12 inch deep pooled section.  The area of the spill is approximately 100 sq ft.  Material is slowly dispersing and wafting down stream.  No aquatic life observed, no odors, pH estimated at approximately 7 to 8.

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date observations and tracking to the apparent source.

2.1.3 Enforcement Activities, Identity of Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) - OSC Jardine intends to notify the City of Atlanta Watershed Management and refer the discharge to them for appropriate follow-up.
