On June 5, 2012, the EPA remedial program requested EPA ERB assistance in evaluating options for addressing current and potential vapor intrusion risks at the South Dayton Dump and Landfill site, including residential and commercial locations adjacent to the site. The South Dayton Dump Site is located west of Dryden Road in Dayton, Ohio.post-installation
In July-August, 2012, EPA conducted a vapor intrusion investigation at the Site.
On May 1, 2013, EPA conditionally approved the Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Work Plan for on-site commercial buildings. The Work Plan was prepared by CRA pursuant to an AOC signed on April 5, 2013.
On May 21, 2013, EPA conditionally approved the Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Work Plan for on-site properties owned by Valley Asphalt. The Work Plan was prepared by Bowser-Morner pursuant to a UAO issued on March 22, 2013.
In July, 2013, PRPs initiated vapor intrusion mitigation at numerous locations at the Site. EPA is providing oversight of the removal activities.

As of June 10, 2014, work by CRA is on-going at the following buildings: Building 8, 9, and 12. See documents for monthly updates.
On July 7, 2014, Bowser-Morner commenced 1-year proficiency sampling for Vapor abatement system installed in the Asphalt plant control building.
On December 4-5, 2014, CRA conducted 1-year proficiency sampling for the vapor abatement system installed in Globe Equipment building 24. EPA START conducted independent indoor air sampling.
On February 17-20, 2015, CRA conducted sampling to evaluate abatement system operations at buildings 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 17, & 24. EPA START conducted split sampling with CRA.
