On March 2, 2012, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and the Montgomery County Health Department (MCHD) requested assistance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at the former Tri-County Petroleum Site in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. According to MCHD, kids had kicked over drums inside a pole barn causing a discharge of oil from the building. EPA and its contractors took actions to stabilize oil discharges prior to disposal of drums.
