On March 24, 2006, U.S. EPA received a request for assistance from the Ohio EPA to respond to a nitrogen dioxide release from Vickery Environmental located in Vickery, Ohio. The release was reported to the NRC (Report #791878) at 1700 hours March 24, 2006, by Vickery. The Sandusky County Sheriff ordered an evacuation of up to 2 miles downwind from the facility. Both U.S. and Ohio EPA along with the County Health Department and HAZMAT Team responded to the release.
