The Site is the former location of the Waunakee Alloy Castings Corporation which ceased operations in 2009. The Site contains one large main building where casting operations occurred and five smaller surrounding outbuildings that contain molds and other artifacts that were needed in the facility's processes when it was still in operation. A small office building is located in the southwest corner of the Site. PCB and Mercury contamination, both separate and mixed, exists on site. Various flammable and corrosive materials are unsecured on site as well. US EPA is performing a Time-Critical Removal Action, at the request of WI DNR, to mitigate the hazards present on site.
