The mission of EPA’s Training and Exercise Program Workgroup (TEPW) is to coordinate, consolidate and improve exercises amoung the regions, special teams and headquarters with the ultimate aim of improving the emergency response program.

The TEPW maintains the 2 year National Training and Exercise Plan (NTEP) which identifies upcoming response related exercise and links those to training needs. After Action Summaries are reviewed quarterly from regional functional and full scale exercises, for issues that may need to be addressed at the national level. An analysis of exercise needs is briefed to Removal Managers on an annual basis.
