Site Description 10/16/2018 01 Background

A new property owner found a series of dilapidated sheds and a cellar in the rear of the property with numerous abandoned chemical containers. Many of the containers were unlabeled and suspected to contain strong acids and other chemicals.  The local police and fire departments responded to the property, but could not identify and dispose of the chemicals.  The local police and fire department secured the area with caution tape.  The property with the shed is located in a residential neighborhood with numerous families and small children.  Weber-Morgan Health Department requested EPA assistance to identify and dispose of the chemicals properly.
