A new property owner found a series of dilapidated sheds and a cellar in the rear of the property with numerous abandoned chemical containers near Roy, Utah. Many of the containers were unlabeled and suspected to contain strong acids and other chemicals. The local police and fire departments responded to the property, but could not identify and dispose of the chemicals. The local police and fire department secured the area with caution tape until EPA could respond. Weber-Morgan Health Department requested EPA assistance to identify and dispose of the chemicals properly. EPA deployed an On-Scene Coordinator to the Site to oversee and coordinate the cleanup.
