Text of flyer notice mailed out on 6/11/2024:

EPA will be conducting a limited removal action at Operable Unit 2 of the North Ridge Estates Site. The removal action will consist of excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated soils within a portion of the site and related dust suppression activities. The contaminated area is affected by heavy metals associated with historic use as a firing range, and was identified during EPA’s remedial investigation of the Site. This is the only portion of the site that has been identified to have contamination above residential cleanup levels.

EPA will conduct the work from June 17 – 28, between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm. Residents can expect some additional vehicular traffic along portions of Scott’s Valley Drive and Cougar Butte during this time frame.
