Link to photos of flood levels in the Lake Champlain Basin Area. 5/5/2011 Site Update
This is a link to an array of photos taken of the flood conditions at the Lake and at specific parts of the Lake Champlain Basin.  Thie historic water level (3 feet above flood stage) has essentially shut down all docking and marina operations on the Vermont side of the Lake, and Burlington VT in paricular.   This flooding has resulted in the postponement of the planned late May early June manned dive on the McAllister.

Dive to examine sunken tug in Lake
Champlain for potential leakage
delayed until spring

MONTPELIER, Vt. - Plans to check out a
sunken tug boat in Lake Champlain for
potential fuel leakage won't happen until the
spring.

The Environmental Protection Agency's Paul
Kahn said Thursday that there isn't time to
arrange a dive before unpredictable fall
weather arrives.

The William H. McAllister sank about five
miles south of Port Kent, N.Y., in November
1963 after it hit a reef. Officials worry it
could hold diesel fuel and lubricants that
could spill and cause an environmental
disaster.

The EPA is working with the U.S. Navy to
supply the divers. Lake Champlain is on the
border between Vermont and upstate New
York.
