PRP Oversight - Removal Action Pollution Report (POLREP) #5
Site Description
Refer to previous Polreps.

Current Activities
Analytical results for previous sampling by the Contractors for the PRP indicated that the horizontal extent of the lead contamination had not been fully delineated.  Prior to commencing excavation activities, the PRP contractors conducted additional sampling and XRF screening to complete the delineation of the area to be excavated.

Approximately 400 cubic yards of lead-impacted soil and battery casing debris was excavated and transported off site for disposal as hazardous waste.  The excavated waste was transported to the Max Environmental Technologies, Inc. facility for disposal.

Confirmation sampling was delayed due to significant amounts of rainfall.

Planned Removal Actions
.

Next Steps
Confirmation sampling is scheduled to be conducted on October 27, 2009.  Excavated grids will be backfilled with clean fill dirt after analytical results for confirmation samples are received if the clean up goal of 400 mg/kg lead is achieved
