On 6/4/2015, the NRC received an anonymous report of an unknown amount of oil being discharged to Tar Creek near the town of Crosby, in Wilkinson County MS. Subsequent follow-up calls with the responsible party confirmed a substantial amount of oil had been discharged into Tar Creek. An EPA OSC and MSDEQ SOSC have mobilized to the Site to ensure an adequate response consistent with the National Contingency Plan.
