At approximately 1500 on April 15, Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection (KYDEP) reported a spill of 70 barrels of crude oil. A flow line from a production well is believed to be leaking. On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) Harper was mobilized to meet with KYDEP. The operator of the well has no means to cleanup the spill. KYDEP has already begun installation of underflows dams on an impacted tributary. The OSC will begin cleanup operations with Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) and Superfund Technical Assessment Response Team (START) Contractors.
