On August 12, 2018 Genesis Energy reported a spill of 10 barrels for a 8" pipeline in Evergreen, Alabama. The RP responded and began cleanup activities. On August 14th, Genesis Energy updated the spill volume to 65 barrels and reported a sheen on nearby creek. The OSC was mobilized to confirm if any water bodies were impacted and ensure appropriate response actions were being conducted. The Responsible Party has completed the majority of bulk oil recovery which impacted a dry drainage ditch. The OSC confirmed the closest downgradient water body (approximately 1/2 mile away) was NOT impacted, and the spill does not pose a threat to waters of the US. Cleanup activities should be completed by Friday, August 17th. The OSC demobilized on the evening of the August 14th.
Assessment activities were coordinated with ADEM.
