Catastrophic tank failure at C & S Chemicals led to the release of approximately 20,000 gallons of Aluminum Sulphate, of which 15,000 gallons breached secondary containment. Approximately 5,000 gallons reached a storm drain which empties to an unnamed tributary to Sweetwater Creek. No fish kills have been observed. Initial pH readings ranged from 1-4 in the tributary. The RP hired environmental contractor RemTech. GAEPD on-scene. OSC Rick Jardine was dispatched.
