At approximately 0930hrs. on 06/28/05, two Kansas City Southern locomotives travelling towards each other at 30mph collided head-on resulting in a catostrophic fire and release of approximately 5500 gallons of diesel fuel. Five KCS employees were injured, two critical. No HAZMAT was involved and no US Waters were impacted to date. Operater error is to blame for the accident.
