On August 28, 2005, FEMA has designated under Title V of the Stafford Act counties in MS and AL to receive Public Assistance Categories A and B (debris removal and emergency protective measures), including direct Federal assistance, at 100 percent Federal funding.

EPA and the USCG are conducting assessment and hazardous materials responses in the MS Counties of: Jackson, Harrison, and Hancock. These were the hardest hit areas due to the storm surge and high winds.

Starting April 17, 2006, EPA will relocate the Incident Command Post. After this date, the Biloxi ICP will no longer be functioning.
