A tank failure combined with a breach in the flooring a containment dike at teh Erarchem Comilog facility caused 3556 gallons of sulfuric acid to be released to the ground. The release actually occured on Aug. 21 but was not reported to the NRC until Aug. 24. The facility reports that the release has been stabililized and that they will hire an environmental response contractor to clean the contaminated soil. OSC Spurlin dispatched to assess the situation and oversee RP activities.
