This site is a former fireworks manufacturing facility. During World War 2 some munitions manufacturing may have occurred. Wastes onsite include fireworks components spread throughout the site in a number of small buildings and trailers. Many of these buidlings and trailers are unsecured and in poor condition. The site is fenced, but the fencing was in poor condition with a number of openings in it (as of 3/29/07). On 3/25/07, a building onsite caught fire (allegedly started by vandals) and burned.

An environmental assessment of the site, including surface and subsurface soil samples, groundwater samples, and surface water and sediment samples, indicated that there is not a significant contamination problem on site. Magnetometer surveys have been conducted to detect the presence of anomalies under the surface. These anomalies will be evaluated to determine if any munitions/ordinance materials exist onsite. This work is expected to be completed by mid-2011.
