On Wednesday, July 23rd, a fuel tanker carrying 7000 gallons of diesel fuel overturned along Route 15 north of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Whitesburg Fire and Hazmat responded to contain the spill and began construction of an underflow dam to contain the fuel on Smoot Creek. Approximately 4000 gallons of diesel was lost in the rollover.
