American Agricultural Chemical Company (AACC) was a manufacturer of superphosphate fertilizers that operated from around 1914 to around 1954 when a fire destroyed the facility. The plant consisted of a main fertilizer storage building, acid chamber building, and a water reservoir. Current Site use consists of several businesses including a concrete plant, a metal recycling facility, and office/warehouse space.

Region 4 Site Assessment Branch forwarded AACC to ERRB for a Removal Site Evaluation and possible removal action. On September 2, 2009, ERRB completed a review of the site information and concluded that the site meets the criteria as set forth in 40 CFR 300.415 (b)(2) for a time critical removal action.

On March 14, 2011, ConocoPhillips entered into an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) with EPA to conduct a Removal Action at the American Agriculture Site. The removal action will consist of additional site characterization activities followed by removal of the impacted soils at the Site.
