This Site was referred to ERRB by NC DENR for assessment. During the installation of a sewer line to the mobile home park, battery chips and casings were dug up. Investigation by DENR revealed elevated levels of lead in the soil found along a storm sewer.

The Site appears to be the location of a former battery dump. Large quantities of battery chips and battery casings have been found below the surface.

A time-critical removal action began at the Site on November 29, 2009. On-site activities are expected to continue for two months.
