About 40, 55-gallon drums of unknown wastes were found abandoned in the Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area. Dawson County Fire Department and Forsyth County HAZMAT responded to two leaking drums at the site. The site has been stabilized and access to the area is closed. EPA Phone Duty sent OSC Alyssa Hughes to address the situation. OSC Hughes is coordinating with DNR. It is believed the drums have been at their present location since October 29, 2010.
