U.S. EPA responded to the site located at 37545 Van Born Road in Romulus, Wayne County, Michigan (Site) at the request of the City of Romulus. START was activated to conduct air monitoring and sampling.
U.S. EPA observed many semi-trailers at the site being utilized as storage containers. One trailer had approximately 150 five-gallon paint containers. Many other drums existed at the site, but almost all were empty to mostly empty.
The site has been foreclosed on by the lender. The lender has hired an environmental consultant and cleanup contractor who has removed and disposed of hazardous substances at the property.
