Elemental mercury was discovered in the parking lot of the high school. Georgia EPD state OSC was notified and contacted EPA for assistance. OSCs Francendese and Garrard mobilized to assess the school.

Mercury vapor screening stations were setup at the Bradwell Institute using interactive PDF assessment forms and Lumex mercury vapor analyzers. Screening stations were setup to monitor for possible contamination of personal items like shoes and clothing. A few vehicles were also screening for mercury vapors. Monitoring for mercury vapor concentrations in the parking lot area were the mercury was first discovered.
