The Site is the location of a release of hazardous substances into the environment which has affected a well component to the public supply of the City of New Cumberland. The EPA coordinated with the WVDEP, conducted a broad assessment to identify possible sources, and assessed the likely locations of the source of the release and the potential threats posed to the city wells. Although the likely source area was identified, a specific source could not be determined. The activity, which included a model effort conducted by EPA ERT, indicated that the public supply was unlikely to be impacted at levels exceeding safe drinking water standards.
