United State Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Removal Action

The TSM Site is a former stamp mill that has been abandoned since at least 1978. The main mill building was torn down in 1975, and remaining concrete structures were subsequently dynamited for demolition and scrapping circa 1978 - 1983. Samples collected from debris piles at the site contain as high as 15% chrysotile asbestos. The debris piles containing asbestos were outdoors and within 100 feet of the Tamarack City Park. The pile are considered historically significant.
