1.1.3 Preliminary Removal Assessment/Removal Site Inspection Results
Inspections indicated that gasoline product was migrating into the storm sewer and that replacement of the old clay storm sewer would remove the threat of oil migrating to the River as well as stopping the odors from migrating into the nearby businesses. All the affected storm sewer was replaced under a PRFA with the Village of Ottoville.
During the replacement of the storm sewer, evidence was found that gasoline was migrating to the storm sewer from the gasoline station. The gasoline station hired a contractor to investigate into the source of the spill.
