2. Current Activities
  2.1 Operations Section
    2.1.1 Narrative
Additional restoration activities and asphalt repairs were completed in SA1A,B&C.

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
From March 28, 2014 to July 11, 2014, EPA and ERRS contractors conducted the following activities:

Site Activities - John Street Staging Area
- Recontoured former staging area and loaded out 1094.01 tons of non-TSCA contaminated sediments for transport and disposal at an approved landfill facility.

Site Activities - SA1A&B
- Removed soils from SA1A work area (Grid 7) for transport and disposal as non-TSCA contaminated sediments at an approved landfill facility;
- Conducted additional soil removal/grading activities in SA1A work area as needed;
- Applied seed/fertilizer mixture in areas around restoration plantings and concrete/asphalt repairs;
- Installed erosion control blanket in areas where soil removal/grading/seed/straw applied;
- Repaired sprinkler system at Rose Park on June 30, 2014;
- Removed and repaired (where necessary) silt fence along creek banks;
- Conducted additional restoration plantings as requested by property owner(s), the last of which was completed on July 7, 2014; and
- Conducted invasive species control activities in SA1A on July 11, 2014.

Site Activities - SA1C
- Completed additional asphalt repairs at entrance off E. Michigan Avenue.

Project Management Activities
- Met with remaining individual property owners affected by project to discuss and obtain signatures on close-out document (signed letters obtained from all property owners);
- Replaced impacted 2012 and 2013 restoration plantings;
- Drafted Pre-and Post-Construction sampling report for close out of the SESC permit; and
- Continued review and development of project final report.

Note: This removal action included on-site treatment and discharge of 1,120,456 gallons of potentially PCB-impacted contact water. An additional 98,000 gallons of contact water were sent off-site for treatment, resulting in a total of 1,218,456 gallons of contact water being addressed by this removal action.
