Site operations are completed. All START and ERRS contractors and equipment have demobilized from the Site. Removal operations at this Site have removed 4,115 tons of soil and contaminated debris. All contaminated soils and debirs were disposed of in a subtitle D landfill. Approximately 3,300 cubic yards of clean backfill soils was replaced on Site. All contaminated grids were excavated and cleared for backfill, D-2, F-3, F-11, H-9, H-12, H-13, H-14, G-7, G-11, G-13, G-14, G-15, I-11, J-11. A residential septic system was replaced , two drainage areas were constructed and grading to provide runoff flow was established. Three 55 gallon drums containing paint waste were over-packed for transportation and disposed of to a subtitle D landfill.
Buffalow Hollow road was extensively damaged between the two intersections of Flat Gap road. The Rockcastel county judge executive, on behalf of the County agreed to pave the road, if EPA provided 33% of the cost for paving the entire Buffalow Hallow Road. EPA agree to pay $17,242.00 for such paving and the county has paved Buffalow Hallow road. The road repaving was completed during the week of September 8, 2009.
KDEP provide a presence on Site during the entire removal process. EPA and KDEP cooperated in all aspects of site assessment, sampling, removal and public relations for this Site.

KDEP continues to review data from the stream adjacent to the Site for potential relevant stream sediment contamination which falls below EPA’s removal action level. KDEP will determine the cost benefit of addressing these State imposed removal action levels associated with this stream.
